Perfect hosts and the experience of a real madrileño life

Aspectos positivos: The location was great, near the metro and buses and interesting neighborhoods, near Madrid Rio, 20 min walk to Atocha and the very city center, to museums etc. It’s a residential area and my window was on the street - apart from the garbage collectors at 2am one night, super quiet! The hosts are two brothers who live there, it’s a shared apartment - as the ad said. They are super helpful and easygoing, with nice stories to tell, and can provide recommendations to visit the city, if you need. And the story of the house is also amazing, you get to live like a real madrileño for a few days. I was mistakenly put in a different room than the one I had booked, but as I was by myself, this one, with one bed, was perfect! And they even allowed me to use their computer! The bed was very comfy. There is a small kitchen you can use, but if you don’t feel like it, there are several options for breakfast and meals in the area as well.

Aspectos negativos: The kitchen is very small, and there is no table, so you have to eat your food in your room if you feel like dining in. But if you are a tourist in Madrid, you’ll dine out, so no problems there! Also there is only one shared bathroom - but this is very well explained in the ad. This was not a problem for me, and I never had to wait etc, but you need to keep that in mind in case you prefer a private bathroom. The bathroom is quite old, as it was the family house, but it was clean.

Aspectos negativos: - nepochopení se snídaní, nečekejte bufet jako v hotelu - zavádějící informace - adresa je 17, ne 15, dostali jsme jiný pokoj než inzerovaný, nevadilo to, ale z inzerátu to vypadá, že mají jen jeden pokoj a mají nejméně tři různé, a sdílíte kromě koupelny také kuchyň

This place has a funky feel in a great location with extremely friendly hosts.

Aspectos positivos: The hosts, brothers Alberto and Carlos, are super friendly and engaged with us every day both to make sure that our stay was comfortable and to connect as new friends. The bedroom and the other rooms, in an old rope factory, were, homey, spacious, comfortable, and eclectic--we had both a Napoleonic end table and a modern patio table minus the umbrella in our bedroom--and the brothers are constantly at work to make the building more inviting and functional. One local spot we'd recommend is the nearby bakery Levadura Madre.
